Visiting procedure
When you arrive at Vestre Prison, please enter through "Indleveringen" which is placed to the left of the main gate (follow the signs).

(Arriving at Blegdamsvejens Prison and Politigaardens Prison go to
the main gate.)
There you must fill in a pass form, which you must keep during the entire visit, and return after the visit.
Then you will be shown into the
waiting room.
Any effects that visitors wish to bring for an
inmate will be searched upon arrival at the
visitor´s centre. Ex: Food items must be unwrapped and placed
on the red tray next to the entrance. Link: Permitted items
The visitor will also be asked to pass through a metal detector. The staff may also search the visitor's outer garments if it is necessary. The visit wil be cancelled, if a visitor refuses to be searched.
A visiting room will then be allocated to the visitor, and the inmate brought in by prison personnel. Most visits are unsupervised, but the prison retains the right to supervise visits if deemed necessary.
A visiting room in Vestre Prison
After the visit, the visitor and the inmate must clean up after themselves in the visiting room. They must finish the cleaning before the end of the visiting period.
The inmate will be searched after the visit. When the search is completed, the visitor may leave the prison. The visitor must take out all leftovers of food etc. brought in.
